The Pine Cabin was truly a labor of love. We built it when we were organic farming full time and making our living selling at tailgate markets in Asheville NC. We had friends and interns living in our house, helping us with the farming, and our first baby on the way. The need was urgent, “We need a cabin to put these wonderful people in, so we can have a baby!” We made a great discovery when our Uncle Ed in KY told us he had a sawmill still in the crates in his barn. We moved it to Broadwing Farm, set it up and started sawing logs and building the cabin. Our first cabin was built, one log, one cut and one board at a time. From these happy and youthful roots the Pine Cabin came to be, equal parts sweat, grit, love, youthful enthusiasm and naivete. And what would eventually be the beginning of our vacation cabin rental adventure in beautiful Hot Springs NC.
The Pine Cabin has come a long way. When we discovered we were one of only two properties in Hot Springs NC to have naturally warm mineral water, it was an easy decision to try our luck in the vacation rental and hot tub business. Now it is equipped with all the modern amenities and is one of only a very few cabins in North Carolina to have hot tubs filled with fresh, naturally warm mineral water. But the way this cabin was build still shows thru, rough sawn lumber is everywhere, the circle marks on the boards trace the days of our youth. And it has transformed itself into a cute and cozy cabin getaway, furnished with comfortable, homey touches with a rustic glow. The hot tub is ten steps from the back door, surrounded by whispering pines with just the stars overhead. The view from the deck of the cabin is of the western sky, with sunsets over the pond, surrounded by the Blue Ridges Mountains. If a real mountain getaway in NC is what you’re looking for, the Pine Cabin, with it’s rustic storied past, and it’s outdoor hot tub should definitely fit the bill. It is conveniently located less than a mile from downtown Hot Springs and only 45 minutes from Asheville NC.
